Story Time
Sam LOVES books. Whenever I need a few minutes of peace and quiet, I get his basket of books and he very methodically takes each book out of the basket one by one and looks at them, turning pages as he goes. He's quite the pro at it. Sometimes this will give me a good 30 minutes of uninterrupted peace (as long as I'm slightly out of eye sight and I don't bother him...he kind of forgets that I'm around).
He also loves the little rocking chair that Grandma and Grandpa Thacker gave him for his birthday. He loves to sit in it and rock and loves to try and get in and out of it too. This is often a challenge since he's not so good on his feet quite yet. But we're making progress. Anyway, tonight when he was sitting in his chair I gave him some books to look at...Needless to say, he was a happy camper! :-)
I love the big, cheesy grin! :-)

New Blog and Making Up For Lost Time
Well, I decided to switch to using Google's blogger instead of our old Xanga site. For one, Google's site is free (the other cost a minimal amount each year) and it's also more user friendly. Three cheers for Google! :-)
I haven't posted a new blog entry since Christmas, so I figured now would be a good time to make up for lost time and try and cover the first few months of 2008 as quickly as possible. Anyway, the past few months have been "out of control" busy for us. It seems that Evan is always going, going, and going some more. I frankly don't have the energy to keep up with him. It makes my head spin thinking about all he has to do. I'm exhausted by the pure thought of it all. That brings me to this...

We're pregnant with baby #2!!!!
I guess I should say that I'm pregnant with baby #2. Evan does have to deal with having a pregnant wife, but I'm definitely the only one pregnant around here! :-) Anyway, we found out the first part of February. I'm about 11 weeks along and excited to be through the first tri-mester soon. This pregnancy hasn't been as difficult for me as the first (so far), but I'm still tired all the time and barely have energy for the basics (showering, grocery shopping, cleaning my house, taking care of Sam, etc.). But, we carry on and try to stay positive!
Sam is growing so much! He turned one on February 22nd. He's so much fun. His personality is developing and he's turning out to be quite the character. For example, lately he's taken to spitting his food out after he's chewed it up a bit (gross!). Of course, I react with a firm, "Sam, No! That is not okay!" But he just looks at me and grins while he does it. So far, he thinks my firm voice is funny. I don't think it's very funny. But he does keep us smiling. He's not walking yet, but crawling everywhere and pulling himself up and standing as much as possible. I'm thinking he'll be a 14 month walker. We'll see if my prediction holds true. Well, I'll post a few pictures from the past few months, so you all can see what we've (or more like what Sam's) been up to...

Happy Birthday Sam!!!
February 22, 2008
1 year old...

For Sam's first birthday, we had some friends and family (Grandma Hatch and Norton cousins) over to celebrate. We ordered pizza, drank root beer and had birthday cake to celebrate. I think Sam was a little overwhelmed by everyone looking at him and singing to him. He sort of freaked out on us, as you can see in this picture. Too funny...
